| The Boggly Woods are a location in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. They are the woods that Mario, Goombella, and Koops explore in Chapter 2. The woods seem tranquil, yet they create an eerie and lonely atmosphere accentuated by large gusts of wind and shifting rainbow-colored earth. The floor has a tree-branch-like texture with a prismatic glow, and the trees seem to have leaves made out of crystals. The Boggly Woods are inhabited by many pale black-and-white enemies and the Punies, small gray creatures with colored pompoms on their heads. Because of their remote location, the woods also attract a few Rogueportians who desire peace and solitude. Five notable outlanders who have at one time been to the woods are Madame Flurrie, one of Mario's partners; Dupree; the businessman; Charlieton; and Doe T., one of the subjects Mario must help from the Trouble Center.
| |
|
| |
|
| Mario and his teammates discover that the X-Nauts are behind Princess Peach's kidnapping and offer Punio their help in driving the X-Nauts out of the Punies' home, the Great Tree. As the group members near the woods, the members happen to hear the Three Shadows in the midst of conversation as they try to recover a lost sketch of Mario they believe will lead to his capture. During this, Vivian shows Beldam Flurrie's necklace. Marilyn notices Mario as he enters the woods and tries to alert her sisters, but Beldam and Vivian ignore her.
| | Boggly Woods are the woods Mario, Goombella and Koops explore in Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Chapter 2. It is the home of pale black and white creatures, along with the Punies, small grey creatures with colored pompoms on their heads. |

|
| Before Mario reaches the Great Tree, he encounters the aforementioned Madame Flurrie and learns that she lives in the Boggly Woods not only for peace and solitude but also to be near the Punies, whom she adores. She requests help in retrieving her necklace, which Mario and his companions find in the woods, and once it is in her possession, Flurrie joins their quest and uses her abilities to help the group gain access to the Great Tree.
| | Mario saves the Great Tree from the X-Nauts and Lord Crump, and Flurrie joins Mario here. |

|
| The in-game map description reads, "A strange and beautiful forest filled with strange and beautiful creatures."
| | Boggly Woods was long ago rumored to be the "new" Shiver Mountain, until the game released and Fahr Outpost was discovered by game players. It certainly seems like an icy place, and if you talk to Goombella, she will sometimes say things that relate to how cold it is while you're in Boggly Woods. |

| ==Items==
| | All of the trees in Boggly Woods seem to have black bark and white leaves. This hint of color obviously symbolizes the black and white origin of it all. There is also white grass near the warp pipe and in other parts of the forest. |
| In the Nintendo Switch remake, additional items can be purchased from Charlieton.

| | One of the oddest and least understandable things in the forest is the ground. The ground is aurora-like in rainbow colors that change and move around flatly. One of the rumors about the ground was that it actually resembled auroras in icy places... |

| **"You see that big tree over there? It's REALLY big...It's kind of otherworldly, actually. Wild..."
| |
| **"If we wanna get over to that ledge on the right, I think we gonna fly in Plane Mode. Oh, hey, and Mario...Can you see that tunnel-like opening in the ledge wall?" (GCN)
| |
| ***"Boggly Woods is a great name for this place. The trees, the flowers...even the GROUND boggles the mind! It's a pretty kind of boggling though. And from a high-up spot? Ooh, baby! I'm talkin' PEAK prettiness!" (Switch)
| |
| **"This is the outer part of the Boggly Woods. The flowers are almost like a carpet! Hey, and isn't it totally rare to find a white-leaved tree? What kind of tree is that?"
