Blaster (named Blaster Shot in Super Smash Bros., and Wolf's being called クローブラスター (Claw Blaster) in Japan) is the neutral special move of every Star Fox character in the Super Smash Bros. series, being Fox's since the original Super Smash Bros., Falco's since Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Wolf's in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
When used, the character pulls out a blaster and fires a laser with a limited range to damage opponents. In Super Smash Bros. Fox slowly fires the Blaster (the fire rate is faster in the air), though hitting opponents with a shot stuns them; in all later games, however, Fox's Blaster has a higher firing rate but does not cause opponents to flinch, and starting with Super Smash Bros. Brawl the range of Fox's Blaster shots are decreased. Falco's Blaster behaves similarly to Fox's original blaster, stunning opponents when hit, but it cannot be fired as rapidly; as of Super Smash Bros. Brawl the lasers from Falco's blaster also have the longest range out of the three characters, and shots also deal electric damage. Wolf's Blaster has the least range and the lowest firing rate, but shots deal the greatest damage and knockback out of each character, though the damage decreases as the blasts travel further. Wolf's Blaster also has a claw-like bayonet attached to the front that also damages opponents.
In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U Fox and Falco both have unique custom variants for this move. Fox's first custom variant is Impact Blaster, which behaves similarly to the original Blaster, having a slower fire rate, dealing greater damage, and stunning opponents. The second is Charge Blaster, which takes some time to charge but fires a larger shot that deals greater damage and stuns for longer. Falco's first variant is Explosive Blaster, which fires a smaller shot with decreased range that pushes opponents back but explodes after some time, dealing multiple hits. His second is Burst Blaster, which behaves similarly to Fox's Blaster, being able to fire rapidly but no longer stunning opponents.
