Β
A Bat is a minor type of ghost found in Luigi's Mansion. They come in two colors, purple and gold, and often appear in large groups. Purple bats hang from the ceiling, and when Luigi walks by, the mob of Bat spirits swoops down to attack him. If one hits Luigi, the plumber will be slightly damaged (five HP) and the ghost would disappear in a puff of smoke. If the strike is unsuccessful, the Bat would return to the ceiling and prepare for the next attack. Gold Bats also hang on the ceiling, but only attack if the player presses the "R" button while they're hanging on the ceiling in the same room as Luigi. In all other respects, they are exactly the same as Purple Bats. Bats can be easily sucked up with the Poltergust 3000 or immediately destroyed with elemental powers.
