It is an art asset for the game itself obtained within the game, whose icon depicts the [[Mona Lisa]] with a red-and-black palette that is not used in-game. Mario receives it after traveling in time to [[Novato]] in 1993 (1994 in the ''Deluxe'' re-release) from the game's lead artist, [[Jeff Griffeath]], who hands it out as an example of his work. Meanwhile, programmer [[Don Lloyd]] is waiting on some new artwork that he needs to implement into the game. Mario gives the Art File to Lloyd, who says that it was exactly what he was waiting for, though he wonders out loud why Griffeath did not post it on their {{wp|bulletin board system}}. | ||
